PACERS GAMING 3-0 SWEEP AND ADVANCE TO THE SLAM WEEK TWO

INDIANAPOLIS (March 7, 2024) – Pacers Gaming, the NBA 2K League affiliate of Pacers Sports & Entertainment, was quite impressive Thursday night with a 3-0 series sweep of GCL Underdogs as bracket play began for 32 qualifying teams in the NBA 2K League 3v3 THE SLAM OPEN Tournament. Coach Joel Lazu’s Pacers, now 4-1 in best-of-five series play in ’24, wasted little time in sending GCL to the loser’s bracket in the double-elimination event, sweeping by scores of 22-14, 23-19 and 22-15. The format features a first-to-21 wins but must win by two. Indiana advanced to the winner’s bracket and a date next Wednesday against the winner of the Wizards District Gaming/Gen.G Tigers matchup, to be played later Thursday.

The Pacers dominated Game 1, shooting nine of 10 from the field enroute to the 22-14 triumph. Point guard COOKS (Mike Campbell) was seven-of-eight from the field, including four-of-five beyond the arc for 18 points. JAYSNAGS (Julio Laboy) and CHESS (Kory Taylor) each had two for Indiana. COOKS continued his masterful play in Game 2, scoring 20 points on seven-of-eight shooting, including six-of-seven from the three-point circle, to lead the Pacers to a 23-19 victory. Indiana claimed the sweep with a 22-15 win in Game 3 as CHESS led the way with 11 points, COOKS netted seven and JAYSNAGS contributed four points and three rebounds.
