PACERS GAMING BEGIN THEIR 5V5 SEASON, LOSING 55-64 TO DUX INFINITOS

INDIANAPOLIS (May 8, 2024) – Pacers Gaming opened its 5v5 NBA 2K League season Wednesday night with a 64-55 loss to DUX Infinitos of Mexico City in the league’s THE TIPOFF Tournament. The Blue & Gold (0-1) will play Thursday at 9 PM against Mavs Gaming and on Friday at 8 PM against Pistons GT.

Two players who were traded for each other just four days ago, had double-doubles for their new respective teams. Center SCOREO (Devin Lawrence), in his first game for Indiana, led the Pacers with 15 points and 14 rebounds while shooting seven-of-seven from the field. Former Pacer big man BIG REIGN (Blaine Wilson) had 14 points and 12 boards against his old team for DUX. CHESS (Kory Taylor) scored 12 and SUBGOATED (Josh Ferreira) added 10 points for the Pacers. GAZULLI of Mexico City led all scorers with 19 tallies.

After the Pacers took an early 10-4 lead, DUX used a 12-0 spurt to go up 20-10 late in the first quarter, and eventually led 20-12 after one. Indiana stormed back and took a 31-29 lead with :13 remaining in the half on a dunk by SCOREO to lead at halftime. Infinitos again made a comeback in the third quarter, going from being down 40-35 to up 42-40. Mexico City led 47-45 after three quarters. DUX outscored Indiana 17-10 in the fourth quarter to take the victory.
