PACERS GAMING DOMINATES IN SWEEP OVER GLITCHY

INDIANAPOLIS (April 18, 2023) – Pacers Gaming put on one of the most dominant performances in the two-year 3v3 history of the NBA 2K League Tuesday night with a resounding 3-0 series sweep of community team Glitchy in the first round of Seed Play in the SWITCH OPEN Tournament.  The victory gives defending tourney champion Indiana a 9-2 mark in this year’s event and sends the Pacers into Thursday night’s (6:45 PM) contest with Jazz Gaming just one win away from going to Washington, D.C. to compete in next week’s in-person championship round.  A loss Thursday to the Jazz would force Indiana into Friday’s Loser’s Bracket play.

How dominant was Coach Cody Parent’s Blue & Gold Tuesday?  In the sweep the Pacers shot 80% (28-35) from the field and 91% (10-11) from the three-point arc in the three games combined while holding Glitchy to 57% (13-23) from the field and 42% (5-12) from the arc.  In the three contests Indiana committed zero turnovers while Glitchy was forced into eight.

“Glitchy is a very good team,” said Parrent. “And we knew that.  They made the elite eight in the last 3v3 event and have some very talented players. But our guys were so focused tonight.  They had the perfect balance of being locked in but also playing loose.  A great team effort.”

The Pacers wasted no time taking control in Game 1, sprinting out to a 15-4 lead before finally winning, 22-9.  CHESS (Kory Taylor) led the way for Indiana with 11 points and four assists while JAYSNAGS (Julio Laboy) added six points and BIG REIGN (Blaine Wilson) chipped in with five points and a game-high four rebounds.  MXRICK led Glitchy with four points.  Indiana did not miss a shot in the 21-10 Game 2 conquest.  CHESS was four-for-four enroute to 11 points, along with four assists, while JAYSNAGS was three-of-three (including two threes) for eight points.  MXRICK led Glitchy with eight tallies.

In Game 3 the Pacers broke open a close game (up 11-9) with a 12-3 closing run to win, 23-12.  CHESS led the Indiana attack with 15 points and three assists while JAYSNAGS dished out a career-high six assists. BIG REIGN scored six to go along with a career-high three steals.  MXRICK and OHDONN each scored five for Glitchy.

Since Parrent made a lineup change and went with CHESS/BIG REIGN/JAYSNAGS, the Pacers are a remarkable 12-4 in series played and an extraordinary 41-20 in games played.
