PACERS GAMING FALL SHORT OF THE TIPOFF BRACKET, LOSING 77-80 AGAINST GRIZZ GAMING

INDIANAPOLIS (May 17, 2024) – Pacers Gaming dropped its third game in three nights Friday evening and was eliminated from the NBA 2K League 5v5 THE TIPOFF Tournament as Grizz Gaming edged Indiana 80-77. The Pacers, now 2-4, will have next week off in preparation for THE TURN Tournament powered by AT&T.

CHESS (Kory Taylor) led the Blue & Gold with 23 points, followed by SUBGOATED (Josh Ferreira) with 16 and SCOREO (Devin Lawrence) with 15 points and nine rebounds. Point guard COOKS (Mike Campbell) had a double/double with 14 points and 10 assists. JAYSNAGS (Julio Laboy) added nine points and six steals. RIGBY led Memphis with 28 points and ex-Pacer VANDI had 27 points and 16 assists against his old team.

Indiana stormed to a 23-12 first quarter advantage as CHESS and SUBGOATED each scored eight points. But a 21-8 run by the Grizz to start the second quarter propelled the home team to a 26-10 quarter and a 38-33 halftime edge. Memphis increased its lead with a 20-17 third period to take a 58-50 lead after three quarters. The Pacers applied late pressure and outscored the Grizz 27-22 in a high-scoring final stanza before falling short by three points, 80-77.
