PACERS GAMING GET THEIR FIRST WIN IN 5’S, BEATING THE MAVS 67-63

INDIANAPOLIS (May 9, 2024) – Pacers Gaming evened its 5v5 record at 1-1 Thursday evening with a solid 67-63 victory over Mavs Gaming as the first week of the NBA 2K League THE TIPOFF Tournament continued. The Pacers will play Friday at 8:00 p.m. against Pistons GT.
Center SCOREO (Devin Lawrence), acquired this week in a trade, led the way for Indiana with 24 points and eight rebounds. CHESS (Kory Taylor) scored 22 – including 15 in the crucial fourth quarter. Veteran point guard COOKS (Mike Campbell) dished a team-high 11 assists and scored nine while JAYSNAGS (Julio Laboy) added 10 points. JARSITY led Dallas with 15 points and DAYFRI had 14 for the Mavs.
Indiana took a 20-18 lead after one quarter as SCOREO paced the team with 10 tallies. Dallas battled back to outscore the Pacers 18-15 in the second quarter to take a 36-35 edge at halftime. The Pacers rebounded in the third, outscoring the Mavs 13-11 to lead 48-47 after three. CHESS exploded for 15 points in the fourth to ignite Indiana to a 19-16 period and the 67-63 victory.
