PACERS GAMING GO POINT GUARD WITH NO. 2 OVERALL PICK IN NBA 2K LEAGUE

INDIANAPOLIS – Pacers Gaming, the professional esports league affiliate team of the Indiana Pacers, made three picks in the fourth-annual NBA 2K League Draft that was held virtually Saturday evening and livestreamed on the league’s Twitch and YouTube channels around the world.  Pacers Gaming will be one of 23 teams competing for the NBA 2K League crown when the season starts this spring.

Pacers Gaming held the No. 2 selection overall (its highest position ever) and took point guard 630 (Enrique Xavier Barraza) from Illinois.  With the 26th selection overall in the second round Pacers Gaming head coach/GM Cody Parrent tabbed league veteran LavishPhenom (Andron Thomas) from Brooklyn.  “Lav” played for Portland the last three seasons in the NBA 2K League.  Finally, with the 40th pick overall in the third round Pacers Gaming took shooting guard Randolph (Randolph Moreno) from New York.

The three draft picks complete the 2021 six-player Indiana roster that includes:  WOLF (Bryant Colon, Queens, N.Y.), the franchise’s first draft pick ever (13th overall in ’18); shooting guard SWIZURK (Nick Grech, Antioch, Calif.), the 22nd pick overall in ’18; and center JOMAR (Jomar Varela-Escapa, Puerto Rico), who was selected with the 23rd pick in the second round last season.
