PACERS GAMING LOSES 2-3, THEN 0-3 IN THE SWITCH OPEN TOURNAMENT

INDIANAPOLIS (April 3, 2024) – No. 15-seed Pacers Gaming lost two best-of-five series Wednesday night and was eliminated from the NBA 2K League 3v3 THE SWITCH OPEN Tournament. Indiana dropped a heart-breaking 3-2 series to No. 2-seed Lakers Gaming (with a league-best 16-1 mark in series played this year) before getting swept 3-0 by Warriors Gaming Squad. The Pacers will now prep for THE STEAL OPEN and a chance to “steal” a 3v3 postseason spot on April 19-20.

In the first action of the night, the Lakers jumped to a 2-0 series lead with a 23-13 win in Game 1 and a 21-15 triumph in Game 2. The Lakers were nine-of-nine from the field in Game 1 as SHIFTYKAII led the way for LA with 12 points and four assists. COOKS (Mike Campbell) led the Pacers in Game 1 with seven points. JAYSNAGS (Julio Laboy) led the Pacers with eight in the Game 2 loss as KRAZY tallied 13 for the Lakers. The Pacers began a comeback with a thrilling 23-21 victory in Game 3 as JAYSNAGS scored nine points and COOKS and SUBGOATED (Josh Ferreira) each tallied seven points. Indiana forced a Game 5 against the league’s best 3v3 team with a 23-18 win in Game 4 as SUBGOATED scored a season-high 12 points with a four-of-six performance from the arc. The Pacers fought tough in the deciding game before bowing, 22-18. COOKS led Indiana with 11 points while SHIFTY had 12 for the Lakers.

In the evening’s elimination series, Warriors Gaming Squad (who lost 3-0 to the Pacers on March 14) got off to a great start with a 21-19 win in Game 1. COOKS and JAYSNAGS each recorded seven points for Indiana in the loss. Despite 11 points on five-of-five shooting from SUBGOATED in Game 2, the Warriors took the contest, 22-20 as KENNYGOTWORK scored 14 for the victors. Golden State closed out the series and ended the Pacers chances in THE SWITCH with another 22-20 win in Game 3.  JAYSNAGS had a season-high 16 points for Indiana in the setback.
