PACERS GAMING LOSES ONE – THE SLAM 3V3

INDIANAPOLIS (March 23, 2023) – Pacers Gaming suffered its first setback in five outings Thursday night with a 3-1 best-of-five series loss to Knicks Gaming in the remote bracket round of the NBA 2K League 3v3 SLAM OPEN Tournament.  It’s the first loss for Indiana in the double-elimination event and the Pacers must win Friday against Magic Gaming at 8:15 p.m., to stay alive in the event with hopes to secure a spot in next week’s in-person tournament championships in Washington, D.C.

The Pacers and Knicks faced each other only one time before in 3v3 competition with Indiana winning 3-1 (22-16, 17-22, 21-15, 22-15) last July 27 in 3v3 Seed Weeks play.

The Knicks took Game 1, 23-19 as ORIGINALMALIK scored 15 for New York.  CHESS (Kory Taylor) led the Pacers with nine points and four assists while JAYSNAGS (Julio Laboy) added six.  The Knicks jumped out to a 2-0 series lead with a 23-18 win in Game 2 as MAILK again went for 15 points.  JAYSNAGS had 11 for Indiana and BIG REIGN (Blaine Wilson) added five points and three rebounds.  The Pacers captured Game 3 with an impressive 22-10 victory as JAYSNAGS scored nine, CHESS went for seven points and BIG REIGN scored six.  MAILK had six for the Knicks.  New York captured the series with a 22-19 win in Game 4 as MALIK scored 16.  CHESS had 11 for Indiana and JAYSNAGS netted eight points.
