PACERS GAMING VS CAVS LEGION GC – SWITCH OPEN 3V3 QUARTERFINALS

INDIANAPOLIS – Pacers Gaming continued its incredible run in the 3v3 NBA 2K League THE SWITCH OPEN Tournament Friday night at the Pavilion at Pan Am with an impressive 4-0 sweep of Cavs Legion GC in Quarterfinal action. The Pacers, now 7-1 overall in the tournament and 2-0 (both sweeps) in in-person series played at Pan Am this week, will play the winner of Friday night’s Celtics/Nets game in Saturday afternoon’s Semifinal round.  Championship finals are slated for Saturday evening at the Pavilion.

After a 3-0 sweep in best-of-five action against the Heat on Thursday, Pacers Gaming turned it up even further 24 hours later with a dominant 4-0 (22-18, 23-19, 21-16, 23-11) sweep of Cleveland in its first best-of-seven series. Saturday’s semifinals and championship will be best-of-seven. In Game 1, the Pacers took an early lead and stayed in control the rest of the way, winning 22-18. VANDI (Zach Vandivier) was five-of-eight from the three-point arc en route to 15 points and three assists while WoLF (Bryant Colon) scored five with a game-high four rebounds. JOMAR (Jomar Varela-Escapa) added two points and two assists. Game 2 was a back-and-forth contest, finally captured by Indiana, 23-19.  JOMAR and VANDI tied for scoring honors with nine points apiece.  JOMAR added four rebounds and had three steals.  WoLF added five points and VANDI had four assists.

VANDI scored 15 in Game 3 as the Pacers won 21-16.  He was five-of-six from three and had three assists. WoLF netted six tallies on three-of-three shooting.  Indiana completed the sweep with its most dominant performance of the evening, winning Game 4, 23-11.  VANDI again scored 15 in the conquest on five-of-eight shooting from the arc.  JOMAR scored six points with two rebounds and WoLF pulled down a team-high five rebounds and dished a team-high three assists to go along with two points.

Coach Bobby Jones, Jr.’s Pacers Gaming squad is 13-3 in all 3v3 games this season.
