PACERS GAMING VS CLTX GAMING – SWITCH OPEN 3V3 SEMIFINALS

INDIANAPOLIS – The dominance of Pacers Gaming in the 3v3 NBA 2K League THE SWITCH OPEN Tournament continued Saturday afternoon at the Pavilion at Pan Am in downtown Indianapolis as the Pacers swept Celtics Crossover Gaming 4-0 in the best-of-seven Semifinals.  Indiana will play for the championship later tonight against the winner of Handlez/Pistons GT.  Pacers Gaming is 8-1 in series victories and 26-8 in games won in the three-week-long SWITCH event.  The Pacers have won 11 games in a row in in-person bracket play at Pan Am, sweeping the Heat 3-0, Cavs Legion 4-0 and now Boston 4-0.

Balanced scoring and key defense have been the hallmarks of the Pacers success this tournament and both were on display Saturday afternoon. The 3v3 event demands the winner is the first team to 21 points but must win by two.  In Game 1 the Blue & Gold jumped out to a 14-6 lead and never looked back as VANDI (Zach Vandivier) led the way with 14 points in a 21-16 victory.  JOMAR (Jomar Varela-Escapa) tallied seven while WoLF (Bryant Colon) had a game-high three rebounds and a game-high two assists.  Game 2 was a bit closer but the Pacers won 22-15 on a dunk by JOMAR.  VANDI led the way with eight points followed by JOMAR and WoLF with seven apiece.  VANDI had three assists while JOMAR and WoLF each had two.

In Game 3 the Pacers once again did not allow Boston to make a move, darting out to a 12-7 lead before winning in dominant fashion 23-13.  WoLF led all scorers with 11 points on five-of-six shooting; VANDI contributed nine points and six assists and JOMAR pulled down a game-high four rebounds to go along with three points.  In Game 4, the Pacers got out to an early advantage, leading 15-7 but the Celtics battled back to take a 20-19 lead and were looking to steal a game.  But VANDI found WoLF in the corner for a deadly three-pointer and Pacers Gaming won 22-20 and secured its spot in Saturday’s championship game.
