PACERS GAMING VS DUX INFINITOS – THE SWITCH 3V3 OPEN

INDIANAPOLIS (April 26, 2023) – No. 5 seed Pacers Gaming suffered a heart-breaking 3-2 series loss to No. 4 seed DUX Infinitos of Mexico Wednesday night in Washington, D.C., as in-person championship round play began in the NBA 2K League SWITCH OPEN Tournament, the league’s latest Coinbase 3v3 BLACKTOP SERIES event.  The Pacers now move to the win-or-go-home Lower Bracket with a Thursday 6:45 p.m. game against Cavs Gaming.  Defending SWITCH OPEN champion Indiana is 8-3 in series and 28-16 in games played in this year’s tournament.

DUX showed why it’s the league’s No. 1 offense taking Game 1, 23-16 in the best-of-five series.  Infinitos point guard KILLEYY scored 15 for the winners while CHESS (Kory Taylor) scored 12 for Indiana.  The Pacers committed two turnovers while DUX suffered none and Mexico outrebounded the Pacers 6-4.  After the disappointing Game 1 setback the Pacers roared back to capture an exciting Game 2, 22-20.  Down 18-20 and a basket away from losing the game and being down 0-2 in the series, the Pacers tied the game at 20-20 and then CHESS made a steal and passed to JAYSNAGS (Julio Laboy) for a game winning dunk! CHESS and JAYSNAGS each had 10 points for Indiana while KILLEYY led DUX with 10.  CHESS ended the game with four assists and three steals. BIG REIGN (Blaine Wilson) pulled down three rebounds, dished two assists and had three blocked shots for the Pacers.

The Pacers went up 2-1 in the series with a 22-18 win in Game 3.  JASYSNAGS led the way with 11 points and four rebounds while CHESS added nine tallies and four assists.  BIG REIGN pulled down three rebounds and had two assists.  The Pacers outrebounded DUX 8-5 and had seven assists to DUX’s two.  KILLEYY had 12 points for DUX.  Facing elimination, the higher seeded DUX team was perfect in Game 4, shooting nine-of-nine from the field (five-for-five from three) en route to a 23-16 victory and tying the series at two games apiece.  LOWKEYGODLIKE scored 12 and KILLEYY added 10 for the victors. CHESS (on six-of-seven shooting) had 14 of the Pacers 16 points.  In the deciding Game 5 the Pacers led early 7-6 but the high-powered DUX offense kicked in and outscored Indiana 15-4 down the stretch to win the game 21-11 and the series 3-2.  KILLEYY had 10 for Infinitos.  JAYSNAGS led the Pacers with seven points while CHESS scored four and handed out three assists.
