PACERS GAMING VS MAVS GAMING – TIPOFF TOURNAMENT GROUP B

INDIANAPOLIS – In the final game (of five) in pool play of the NBA 2K League The Tipoff Tournament, Pacers Gaming (1-4) won its first game of 2022 with a 68-64 defeat of Mavs Gaming (2-3) Friday evening. The Pacers will begin pool play in The Slam Tournament April 26-29. Point guard VANDI (Zach Vandivier) led the Blue & Gold with a season-high 27 points followed by 630 (Xavier Barraza) with 22 points and five assists. Center JOMAR (Jomar Varela-Escapa) added 12 points, seven rebounds and three steals. LAVISH (Andron Thomas) scored five and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. KENNYZEUS had 24 for Dallas while SICKONE added 18 points and 13 rebounds.
VANDI scored 11 of the Pacers first 13 points to bolt the Blue & Gold to a 23-15 lead after the first quarter. 630 netted 14 points (on 5-of-7 shooting from the field, 4-of-6 from the three-point arc) in the second quarter to push the Pacers lead to 45-27 at intermission. Mavs Gaming rallied and outscored Indiana 19-13 in the third and 18-10 in the fourth, but the Pacers made timely free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.
